Tournament Report – Dust 1947 European Masters 2016 in Court-Saint-Etienne

Last weekend was very intensive. / Ostatni weekend był bardzo intensywny.

[ezcol_1half]I spent whole weekend on Dust 1947 European Masters tournament  during “Festival en Jeux !” in Court-Saint-Étienne near to Brussels. That was second edition which took place during Festival en Jeux!. First one was two years ago. Like previous one this event was organized by Olivier Zamifirescu from Dust Studio and Olivier Joiris, the Boss of “Festival en Jeux!”. Of course during such an event couldn’t miss Paolo Parente. 🙂

16 players were decided to take the challenge.  France, Poland, Sweden and Germany were represented.  All type of armies were spotted. AXIS forces were represented by NDAK, Luftwaffe and Blutkreuz Korps. Steel Guards battalion, Red Guards forces and Red Army supported by choppers from SSU. USMC and Rangers lead Allies.[/ezcol_1half]

Wydarzenie przygotowali Olivier Zamifirescu z Dust Studio i Olivier Joiris, szef “Festiwalu Jeux en!”. Oczywiście podczas takiej imprezy nie mogło zabraknąć Paolo Parente.

Wyzwanie przyjęło 16 graczy, którzy reprezentowali cztery kraje Francję, Polskę, Szwecję i Niemcy. Pojawiły się armie reprezentujące wszystkie bloki. AXIS był reprezentowany przez NDAK, Luftwaffe i Blutkreuz Korps. Frakcje Steel Guards, Red Guards oraz Red Army przyszły ze wschodu.  Alianci wystawili jednostki USMC i Rangers.[/ezcol_1half_end]

Players

Poland was represented by Marek Laskowski, Tomek Koślacz, Paweł Olewniczak, Marcin Jakubczyk, Michał Poręcki and me. Mats Edwardsson, Johannes Haglund, Carl « Calle » Dickfelt, Ludvig Mauritzon came from Sweden. Teams of three represented France (Jean-Pierre Lacroute, Olivier Bertrand-Le Naour and Sacha Cauvin) and Germany (
Dirk Richter, Philip Lindemer and Sascha Thandronen).

Each player played six battles. Four during first day and two during day two. We played on two maps prepared by Olivier. Maps were different but with comparable scenarios objectives. First map presented desert arena with ruins and old artefacts. Second was in city style with two traditional buildings, trees and obstacles made with ammo boxes. In both cases counter partners had to control objective points as many turns as it was possible. Players gained 1 victory points for each objective controlled at the end of turn. Winner had to collected more victory points at the end of battle.

We played hard but not dirty. Spirit of fair challenges was promised and delivered by players. We had lots of friendly discussions, beers (Thank you German team), shake hands and free talks about Dust, new models, future prospects and events.[/ezcol_1half]

Zawodnicy

Polska reprezentacja: Marek Laskowski, Tomek Koślacz, Paweł Olewniczak, Marcin Jakubczyk, Michał Poręcki i ja. Dust Vikings ze Szwecji: Roger Gudmundsson, Mats Edwardsson, Johannes Haglund, Carl «Calle» Dickfelt, Ludvig Mauritzon, Jon Manker. Trójka z Francji:  Jean-Pierre Lacroute, Olivier Bertrand-Le Naour, Sacha Cauvin. Niemiecka drużyna:  Dirk Richter, Philip Lindemer i Sascha Thandronen.

Każdy zagrał sześć bitew. Cztery podczas pierwszego dnia i dwie drugiego dnia.

Duch „fair play” został dotrzymany do końca.

The Winners, …and something more

Marek and Sasha gained the highest scores during elimination battles and they played final battle. They fought on huge desert map which looked like highway between the ancient artefacts, columns and old buildings. Scenario was simple “Kill’em All”.  After two turns Sasha decided to give up. He said that due to Mr. Victory Sergeant his wasn’t able to take initiative. Marines, led by Marek, controlled battlefield and it was matter of time when he eliminates Sasha NDAK army. After Sasha decision Marek was proclaimed  “Dust1947 European Master in 2016”.

Zwyciezcy, … i nie tylko

Marek i Sasha uzyskał najwyższe wyniki w walkach eliminacyjnych i zagrali bitwę finałową. Olivier zafundował im ogromną mapę z autostradą pomiędzy starożytnimi artefaktami, kolumnami i ruinami. Scenariusz był prosty „Kill’em All”.

Like it 🙂

It was very good tournament. I like idea of six battles. This way all players were involved both days. Moreover, at least theoretical, there wasn’t clear who would play in final battle almost till the end. Also point calculation system proposed by Olivier proved to be very easy and effective.

Last but not least. This year also our friends from befriended company www.thorminiatures.com . Colleagues came with fantastic stuff which perfectly fit to Dust1947 Universe. Thor Miniatures offers ruins and desert buildings, railroads, trains and roads, bags for dices, decals, trees and obstacles. All these elements have fitting dimensions  to Dust1947 grid map. Buildings, railroads and roads element have even the dot in the center.

By the way Tomek (from ThorMiniatures)  participated in painting contest and gathered almost all prizes for his Dust models.[/ezcol_1half]

To lubię 🙂

Wszystkie te elementy mają wymiary dopasowane do Dust1947.

[/ezcol_1half_end]
